Miracle Ranch is a Christian summer camp features horses and horsemanship classes, plus outdoor activities like archery, field sports, boating, arts & crafts, and water sports.
"My kids got a chance to be independently responsible, and have an awesome time meeting new friends & doing activities they can’t do at home. The adult staff were exceptional role models. Through the positive examples surrounding them during camp week, the kids could see the impact following Christ has on your character."

Miracle Ranch Staff

Shane Carlson, Director of Island Lake & Miracle Ranch Camps
Shane and his wife Allison both grew up in the Northwest and are glad to be back.  Shane spent the last twelve years at four Young Life camps—Malibu Club (Canada), Lake Champion (New York), Wildhorse Canyon (Oregon) and, most recently, Lost Canyon (Arizona)—two of which he helped open. He has a passion for seeing people grow in their relationship with Christ. Shane is a Seattle native and alumnus of SPU.  The couple is accompanied by their Chocolate Lab, Bodie

Darin Gemmer, Miracle Ranch Program Director

Darin joined the staff at Miracle Ranch in May of 2008 after finishing up his Recreation degree at Western Washington University. He has been working hard to continue the tradition of great camping ministry at CRISTA Camps. He is supported in his ministry by his amazing wife Deanna and their two daughters Daisy and Danielle. Darin and Deanna love having their family as a part of the ministry at Miracle Ranch and desire to see young people draw close to Christ. Darin especially enjoys working with his summer staff; helping them become the next generation of leaders.

John O'Neil - Island Lake Food Services Director
A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, John came to Island Lake in 1996. He has worked in food service for 26 years in a variety of positions, one being at the White House Retreat Center. Camp ministry impacted his life in a significant way when he was in high school, and he enjoys giving back a little of what he received. "Our hope and prayer in food service is to serve the kids and staff with a servant's heart and attitude."
