Swim Checks
Camper swim checks take place Sunday after the camper check-in. The test consists of a short swim and a short session of treading water in our swim area under the supervision of our waterfront staff. Please be prepared for this and have the camper’s swimwear accessible.
Family Day
After Junior and Middle School check-in, parents and family are invited to stay for our barbecue and Island Lake program introduction. At this time parents may depart or attend an optional Q & A session with the Director and the Camp Nurse. The cost for dinner is $5 per person or $15 for a family. The program will feature free off-road motorcycle rides for children ages 1-7. At the conclusion of dinner, campers will begin their Camp Orientation. Please plan to attend and join the fun.
Phoning and Visiting
We are fully conscious of our great responsibility to care for your camper. In the case of any emergency, either physical or otherwise, you will be notified promptly. Consequently, we do not allow personal phone calls, either incoming or outgoing, or personal visitation during the camp session due to the interruption to the schedule and the effect on camper morale. If a serious concern arises, you may contact the camp director to discuss the situation.
Lost and Found
Please be sure to label all belongings with camper’s name and phone number. If you discover that your camper left something behind, call with a detailed description of the item and the week of camp attended. We will attempt to locate the item and mail it to you. You will be asked to provide the postage required to return the item. All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the summer.
Store Deposit
We use a “bank” system so campers do not have to keep track of cash during the week. You may send store deposits with your camp fee payments, call our office at least two weeks before your camp session, or deposit spending money directly into your camper’s store account when you check in on the first day of camp. Any money not spent will be refunded in cash to the camper on Saturday morning at breakfast. Spending money may be used for the following:
- Camp clothing and merchandise (stickers, t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats…): $0.50 - $45
- Snacks and beverages (candy limit is $3/day): $0.25 - $3
- Cabin pictures and all camp photos can be purchased on Sunday and will be deliverd to the campers on the last day of camp. Color 5X7 will be available.
