Shugyr may be one of our smaller ponies, but her huge personality and talent makes her stand out from the herd!

Shugyr is our resident trick pony at Miracle Ranch. Before coming to Miracle Ranch, Shugyr’s previous owner taught her a variety of tricks. Shugyr’s full name is Shugyr Daahit which is Gaelic for “burnt sugar.” When her owner could no longer physically or financially care for Shugyr, she graciously chose to donate her beloved horse to our riding program instead of selling her.

Although Shugyr is small in stature, she has a big personality. Her size and many years of experience make her a great fit for our small day camp beginner riders. Shugyr also has plenty of spunk and energy when needed and our younger advanced riders can learn skills on her as well. Shugyr even loves to take our smaller advanced riders over jumps.

If you have ever attended a Sunday Horse Show at the start of our summer resident camps, you have seen Shugyr racing against one of our miniature horses, Sonny. Shugyr currently holds the title for winning the most Sunday Show races.
